About SpiritWind
This balloon is a Cameron system manufactured in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This balloon holds 80,000cft of air. The envelope itself stands 60ft tall. The wicker gondola below the envelope houses 2 propane tanks, the pilot and the passengers. The burner system between the gondola and the envelope has a redundant system, like having a backup engine. The hot air balloon is a federally registered aircraft and has to pass an annual inspection, at which time every inch is inspected. A certificate of that inspection is then placed into the aircraft logbook carried in the gondola.
The name SpiritWind was written in my heart before I bought my first balloon in 1994.
The process of learning to depend on and trust in Jesus led me to the scripture in Zachariah 4:6, not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, thus saith the Lord Almighty. From this SpiritWind was to be the name of the hot air balloons I own. I named my first balloon SpiritWind, my second balloon was SpiritWind II, and the balloon you see here in the background is SpiritWind, “The Celebraton of Life”.
As I have traveled around the country and Canada meeting other balloonist, crew and spectators, I am able to share some of what God has done and is doing in my life.
One of the things I share is the phrase “SpiritWinds and Peaceful Landings”. Like all other balloonists, I used to use the phrase “gentle breezes and soft landings”. We all know in life, from a spiritual standpoint, all of our winds are not gentle and all of our landings aren’t soft, however, being a child of God, we can all have His Peace in our hearts to get us through the rough times. So this has become part of my life testimony as I share each fight.
